Sex workers know their shit.
Learn from the experts.

New site - coming soon.png

I'm an adult services provider and I want to learn from other sex workers. I want to find sex worker friendly services and discover events for sex workers in the UK.

I want to enhance the quality of my sexual experiences and learn from the best in the industry.

FAQ-U

What is a Sex Worker? 'Sex Worker' is someone who directly delivers adult services. For example, this could include a porn star, but it wouldn't apply to a porn star producer (unless they were also a performer, we're a multi-talented bunch). Some other examples include phone chat operators, sugar daters, professional submissive or dominations services as well as FSSW (full service sex workers aka escorts). That's not a full list but you get the idea. Of course watch out for the fact that not everyone likes every term. If you're struggling to figure out how to refer to someone, 'sex worker' is considered polite. Of course, everyone has their own preferences and I believe that lanuage is local not global, so if an individual asks to be referred to in a certain way... do that.

Why do sex workers get special content? Most people have a work-them and social version of themselves (and sometimes one just for your mum) We do too. What you say on LinkedIn is going to be different to what you say on Friday Night Work Drinks. Attention Whores is one of our Friday Night Work Drinks places. If you're a sexplorer - thanks for respecting our space to professionally let our hair down. If you're a sex worker - we're looking forward to meeting you!

Why do I have to verify? We want to make sure that you are a sex worker, and not just someone pretending to be one. Yep. I know that nuts, but that's our life. While you might be chill about our jobs, some people out there are not and we get exposed to doxxing, blackmail, robbery and all-round nasty behaviour. Verifying that you are a sex worker is how we maintain this a safe space. Read the blog 'Why do I have to verify' for more information.

What do I need to do to get listed? Just go to the About page and fill out the form. We will then review and post your listing - or add the event straight into the calendar. We approve everything so please be patient while we do this. Thanks!

Can I trust people who are listed in the directory? We ask people to supply two references from sex workers. While we do have a manual approval process, it is more to stop scammers, spammers and obvious pricks. We don't have the resources to vet people, but we do require that people who want to list provide references so you can do your own vetting. If of course you know someone is listed who shouldn't be, or have had a bad experience, please email ana@attention-whores.com and I will investigate.

Errr.... why are you calling people 'whores'? We can do it. You can't ;) Reclaiming language is one way we take power back. By using words that are used against us, we help to erode their offensive power. The word 'queer' is a wonderful example of this. However - these are still charged words, so please use 'sex worker' if you're unsure and don't argue with someone who asks you to not use a particular word around them. It doesn't cost you anything. In our own circles we call ourselves all sorts of things (just look at the Hookers Against Hardship campaign) and Attention Whores this is just a fun colloquial name. It was more of a double entendre when it was a marketing agency... doesn't make quite so much sense now, but other sex workers have complimented us on it, so we're keeping it =)

I'm still waiting to get verified... This is currently a grassroots organisation, run by sex workers and we don't have full time admin staff. We endeavour to be as quick as possible, but we're busy being badass and sometimes get distracted. We're currently building a shiny new website that should make everything run much smoother so please bear with us while we develop that.
